Meet Shannon
Shannon is an anxiety driven, overthinking, perfectionist who stresses over not b eing perfect. She is blessed to be a mom of three miracles. Her oldest is adopted out of the foster care system. After 11 dark years of infertility, she was surprised with a twin pregnancy. Shannon turned in her special education teacher hat to fulfill her dream career as a behavioral and educational consultant.
Meet Jess
Jess is a teacher at heart and a natural leader. Her goal is to leave sparkles of positivity wherever she goes. The practice of finding joy hasn't always been easy - from loving and leaving an addict, to finding self-love and new love, to navigating a nightmare of an adoption process - she is stronger for enduring challenges and is now living her own dream life. Much of her time is spent with her son, but her life wouldn’t be complete without also contributing to the field of education in various ways.

49. Guest Interview with Devin Moore- Bullying Prevention and Reclaiming Your Power
Devin Moore, the featured guest on this episode, touches on his journey of reclaiming his strength. When he was just 14 years old, Devin faced bullying because of his race and skin color. Instead of suffering in silence, he found his voice and stood up against the bullies, determined to make sure no one else felt alone in their struggles. This experience inspired him to establish #RaceToSpeakUp, an organization dedicated to eradicating bullying by educating young people on how to prevent it - that is what you will hear about in this episode.
Through #Racespeakup, Devin empowers individuals to recognize injustice and drive positive change in their communities. In the interview, he distinguishes between teasing and true bullying, shedding light on the harmful impact of the latter. Devin is also the author of "Devin Speaks Up," a children's book that shares his personal story and emphasizes the importance of self-acceptance.
In addition to writing, Devin conducts training sessions and workshops for schools and organizations, spreading his message of kindness and advocating for bystanders to become "upstanders" in the fight against bullying. His ultimate goal is to create a world where everyone feels empowered to embrace their true selves without fear of discrimination or mistreatment.
